Why is the grass green? By M. Silverman

Why is the grass green?

Why is the grass green?

Asks every young child.

Well, the answer is that it is not.

In fact, it is every single colour except for green.

It’s simple light reflection.

Grass is blue. Grass is purple.

Grass is red.

But grass is not green.

Why is the sky blue?

Asks every young scientist.

Of course, it is not.

The sky is every colour but blue.

The sky is pink.

The sky is orange.

But the sky is not blue.

Why are your wrists purple?

Asks my friend.

The answer is that they are not.

My wrists are every colour but purple.

My wrists are yellow.

My wrists are green.

But my wrists are not purple.

Why is your eye black?

Asks the cashier.

It isn’t.

My eye is blue.

My eye is brown.

But my eye is not black.

Why is my blood red? I ask.

It’s not.

Why is my blood red? I ask.

It’s simple light reflection.

Why is my blood red? I ask.

Why is my blood red?

It’s not.
